Russian Name Naming Guide
1. Authentic names with patronymics
Every result is a full Russian name — given name plus patronymic — written in Cyrillic, romanized, or both. Style and theme guidance shape the sound and the story.
2. Cyrillic, romanized, or both
Choose the format that fits your need: pure romanization for easy reading, pure Cyrillic for authenticity, or both so you can copy the script and pronounce the romanization.
Frequently asked questions
Are these real Russian names?
They are original combinations in an authentic Russian naming style with natural-sounding given names and patronymics. They are never copied from real public figures, so they are safe for characters and self-inserts.
Why include a patronymic?
A patronymic — the middle name built from the father’s given name — is the heart of a Russian full name. Including it makes the name feel genuine and complete for stories and settings.
What does the format choice do?
Cyrillic returns the name in Cyrillic script only, Romanized returns Latin letters only, and Both returns Cyrillic with the romanization included at the start of the meaning.
How many names do I get?
Each request returns six names with reasons and meanings. Regenerate for a fresh batch, and names you have already seen are excluded automatically.
